Whats the difference between Lubeguard and Lucas trans fix? I was under the impression that they were similar or I could expect similar results from using either.

Lubeguard decreases friction; Lucas increases friction.
Lubeguard specifically targets the torque converter clutch. The quick and dirty...if it improves with Lubeguard, it's fluid additive depletion. If not, it's mechanical.

    Updates:

    1. The issue has more or less stopped on its own. Not saying it is fixed but the symptoms are now basically non-existent.

    2. Toyota Brand Engagement (Corporate) has missed both of their self imposed deadlines.

    3. Was hoping to hear from Toyota first, but with them taking forever and still having to drive semi-regularly, I’m going to go ahead and schedule an inspection with an independent shop.

    Further updates:

    1. Toyota Brand Engagement (Corporate) has determined that they will do NOTHING.
    2. Even though the summary from the dealership recommend a full transmission replacement based on a POSSIBLE (their words) glycol contamination, the corporate team stated that it is their policy to NOT get involved with the findings of the dealerships.
2a. The corporate support said that the dealer believes it was an outside contamination and is therefore my fault. They said maybe antifreeze in the transmission but again, they don't have proof of anything nor were there discussions about follow up to confirm.
    3. Toyota refuses to send or provide any confirmation of their findings?!?! They said that it is kept in their files and can be referenced by the case number, but that they will not put it in writing. Feels a lot like a CYA exercise for bad rulings.
3a. The team also has no means of escalating. I asked to speaker to their supervisor and they simply said no. I asked about filing a complaint about the process and the woman just said that she noted it in my file. Seems like I am just stuck with this lemon situation with almost nothing to do about it.

I am beyond upset by all of this. At this point I will have to just go to another shop and get a second opinion, I have been moving and been dealing with some personal situations that delayed that step, but this all feels crazy.

This is not what buying a brand new Toyota is supposed to feel like.

I am ashamed to say I did this... BUT I noticed it right afterwords and before ever driving my truck so I added the 3.5ish qts and did the level check so no harm no foul.... but it's surprisingly easy to do.

Have you tried doing any verification of the issue yourself? Have you even done a fluid level check?

Just because the dealership says you need a new transmission does not mean its true.
