lifting a 98 and increasing wheel and tire size

I have a 98 tacoma with the stock 15' wheels on it. I'd like to increase to 16 or 17 and increase the tire size as well to raise her up a bit, I may list it up a bit too but want to address the wheel and tire situation first as it's winter in CO and I need a good set of winter tires on it asap. Any recomendations on good combos would be greatly appriciated! Thanks! K

 

you should stick with a 15 inch rim if possible and just move up in tire size. It would be most cost effective to do so. You can run a 32 or 33 inch tire with a lift, or 275/285's with 16 inch rims.

 

Don't do 17" rims! Anything bigger than 16" on a 1st gen Tacoma looks retarded. I personally went with 16" and 265/75 tires. I also think 15" wheels look good with 32's

 

Thanks! greatly appreciated! It's been a spell since I've had a 98' taco....I may just keep the 15's for now and mount snow tires on them as I'm in the Rocky's.

 

sounds like a plan, get some nice 31's or 32s and call it a day.
