im actually looking to swap it for a high clearance and/or AL one. Cut the lower crossmember and raise it a bit to run a skid from that to the jdf LCA mounts

That's what I'm here for, the mods and the gear.
Hey, how often do you guys change your oil for full synthetic? I've read 1 year/10,000 miles but damn that sounds like a long time.

6 months/5000 Miles for me. But I use the truck hard. Off road and in quarry conditions multiple days a week.

Believe the manual says 12 months/10,000 miles, with "services" every 5000 miles (fluid top of/check, tire rotation, air filters [if needed])

OW-20 every 10k miles, possibly less in harsh conditions or if you're thrashing the truck; same applies to other fluid/oil intervals based on your climate and usage. Oil tech and development has come a long way and full synthetics are good to go for that period of time in modern engines in most conditions. Lots of data from Blackstone Labs and others to reflect this as perfectly fine.

That said, changing more frequently can give people the warm and fuzzies - won't do any harm.

It's 10K for regular use, and 5K under "special" conditions. And, pretty much anything besides highway driving is covered by "special" conditions.

I've been doing 5K changes based on off-roading, towing, hauling, and driving it like I stole it.

Here's how it looks in my maintenance schedule:

Unless they get it changed at a quick lube place. Then it will do all of the harm

I had a mechanic friend say that the oil might hold up it's the filter that is the issue. He says they improved the oil to go longer between changes but not the filter

This is true but synthetics also do a better job getting through the filter. If you're not doing anything heavy or intense or super dirty, your filter should last as long as the intervals say

Got the truck back on the ground and went for a short drive. And EVERYTHING works! 4lo with the crawl box is slow and is awesome.

Now have to cut the crawl box shift lever to get it forward about 2 inches to work with the console and get the floor boot from an FJ Cruiser put in. Getting closer!!
