I received a notification to get the "Intake Maintenance Service" done on my 2020 with 40,000 miles. The explanation for this service is the following:

"For use in direct injection, and duel injection systems, cleans throttle body unit, air intake, intake valves".

At a $143 price point, this does not seem worth it to me. What do the members of TW think?

    TYIA.

I did it in my garage for $20 ( throttle body and MAFS)

    Sounds like a Dealer scam.

Dealership profit maker just like the various "flushes" many dealerships push because its full of easy money profit.

And just think of the even more profit for the dealerships that charge you this "service" but do not perform any service.

The best thing you can do, other than not going back to the dealership that is trying to sell you this service, is to ask the service writer on what page of the owners manual does TMC say to have my two year old trucks intake serviced? Guess what he can't because TMC has no recommendation for this.

just run a can of seafoam through it every six months. Save about $137 this way, which you can spend on mods or gas. Dealer is full of BS.

That’s a dealer money grab. If its not in the Toyota manual under recommended svc , they usually are trolling for business . It usually involves running cans of B&G thru.
