I have Baja Designs squadron sports in amber wide corner as my fog lights in my 2015 Tacoma. I live in Colorado and the other night was driving in some pretty significant snowfall where I had to reduce highway speeds to ~30. Turning on the BD’s was still too much light output for that heavy snow. I realize amber helps but doesn’t cut out refraction completely. However I had too much light output up high & still causing the blinding effect. Anyone have any experience with the work scene amber lenses and maybe they perform a little better??

for that you are kinda out of luck, you could try buying the "fog" lens for that, but its a Band-Aid as that light is still to bright to be used on the street. if you can do it, take a look at Diode Dynamics fog lights in either pro or max it will get you the ideal beam pattern.

You basically have several issues going on. First, "wide cornering" has much too diffused of a pattern with way too much up-light to use as a true fog light in poor weather conditions. A true fog pattern light has a very tight, well-defined horizontal pattern that eliminates most up-light and thus reflected glare.

The other problem you have is color temperature. The best color for true fogs is selective yellow - which is much lower in color temperature. The more "white / blue" you get, the more reflection you get off of rain and snow. What all of the above leads to is what you are experiencing - objectionable reflection back into your eyes.

Going to a work / scene / flood pattern - no matter what color temperature - is only going to make the problem worse because all of those patterns are less well defined.

As has already been stated, if you want the current best high powered LED fogs that are direct replacements for your OEM Tacoma fogs, consider the Diode Dynamics Pro or Max SS3 fogs in selective yellow. Even though they're more powerful, they have much better / tighter beam patterns (especially the Max) and they both run hot enough to melt snow. All of this comes from somebody who's had both the Pro and Max fogs in my Tacoma and now 4Runner.

Thanks for reply’s appreciate it. Does the SS3 sport not throw enough light to be effective or different pattern? I’m not really looking for max light output but useable light in bad conditions and a noticeable improvement over stock.

the sports are also amazing and are a great light, if you live in snow they may not get hot enough to melt snow build up.

As has already been said by @paranoid56, the Sport model is quite impressive. As a matter of fact, from a "bang for the buck" standpoint, it's very, very impressive with a nice, tight horizontal beam pattern that's significantly brighter than stock. The only weakness is that it doesn't run quite hot enough to melt heavy snow.
