I was given a Sundown audio SA-12 subwoofer, and am having trouble finding a enclosure that does not take up too much space, or at least fits well in the truck. The speaker requires about 1.8 cubic feet of box space. Vehicle is a 03 extended cab.

    can't beat physics.

there's only so many ways to stretch a 1'9" cube box to fit.

Assuming you want to use a vented enclosure, that's only the internal volume number. You also have to account for the vent and materials, so you're looking at maybe 3 cubic feet. I have a 10 in a slot ported enclosure tuned to the high 20s. It takes up most of the wall and I removed the seats.

I suppose an alternative would be to use a sealed enclosure, but I understand that these drivers don't perform well in sealed enclosures.

This setup on only ~585 watts is a beast though. Transients are a weak spot, but if you like low bass, it won't leave you hanging.
