2016 Tacoma Mounting Issues

Hi. I bought my 16 Tacoma as a lease trade in in 2019 with 48,000 miles. Truck looked perfect and 48k is brand new IMO. So far, in less than 3 years, I've put 2 power steering pumps on, had the engine completely resealed (Toyota admittedly knows about the problem and says it was a manufacturer defect but not enough have been effected yet so they won't recall ((out of powertrain warranty so yes all repairs have been paid out of pocket)) and now I'm having another problem. Sporadically, the truck has a pattern in which interior dome lights flash in a pattern of three, they just come on with zero warning and do this three times, then, the entire truck shuts down, no lights, radio, engine, nothing. It has done it three times now, and this last time it just died out while driving. Luckily I was in town at low speeds but these issues are getting increasingly irritating,etc alone dangerous. FYI truck has 81k on it now and has been completely babied by me, oil changes, maintenance etc. Anyone else having this problem with their 16 Tacoma? I fell in love with this truck but I'm slowly starting to hate it.

 

Welcome to TW. Dealerships are notorious for taking advantage of women. If you have a husband or boyfriend maybe you could get them involved or you could possibly contact Toyota corporate. In the future I would shop around for a good reputable mechanic outside of the dealership. I realize if you need warranty or recall work your only option may be a dealership.
