I can understand that. Sold that one a few years back and couldn't stand it so I got a 2016 SGS a few months back with only 4200 miles. Loving it.

Wow, Now I’m really to do this one. I do not want to chrome them but I might end up removing the powder coat. I’ve got to keep the center caps in mind though.

I surely didn't expect you to want to chrome them. I almost mentioned that in the first post. It's different for a bike though. You could machine and then have all kinds of options for coatings if so desired.

Yeah…. I think I just assumed about the chrome. I considered not having them coated at all, but I’m sure I would get a lot of flack for that one. But I don’t live in the salt zone/squad whatever. We will see how this plays out, people like to charge a lot of money for little things like this around here. The quote I got for painting a camper shell was ridiculous. I understand they are professionals and all and it’s their trade but sheesh.

I agree that could be way overpriced. Keep us posted on the progress as this could be a great mod.

I got a set from Overland Custom Designs, a lot beefier than stock and they're fully adjustable. I can't say yet how they perform, they're still in their box. :anonymous:

Looks good. I contacted him a couple of weeks ago and he is preparing to send one out to me as well. May be moving to a state that requires a front plate in the near future so wanted to be proactive and get one while still available.

found a sweet ARE topper on FB marketplace for $700. I thought I wouldn’t like the silver/MGM color combo, but I think it looks awesome!

Just installed my ditch light mounts this morning, found alot of rust in the bolt holes on the drivers side, so I wired out the holes, sprayed some fluid film in there then put it all back together. Need to build my wire harness then I can put the lights on.

Definitely do not use the adhesive on the led light. I already made that mistake with my 2nd gen. After about a week it starts peeling off snd turns into a mess. Get 1/4 inch 3M VHB tape from Amazon, should be $10. The "3M" that comes with the led strip is garbage. I put the vhb on the rail first, then the led strip, went around with a towel to push it down to get adhesion and bamm you got a solid connection

Awesome! Thanks for the link, that has some really good info. I’ve watched a few install videos and saw that there is the “through the fender” and “remove the grille” methods of installation.

Seems like getting them aimed properly is the biggest hassle.
