Good morning fellow Porchatonians and congratulations @ImpulseRed008 Sue! You are almost there!!!

We got a short balloon flight in yesterday so our pilot could keep his streak of consecutive months with flights going - 145 months which is a real feat here in northeast PA with our winter weather patterns. You just have to take the opportunities when you can and we went much deeper into March this year than we like to. Tony flew the Hopper - it's like sitting on a flying toilet with propane tanks underneath you. After a short flight we tethered to the truck so crew could have some fun, too. It started to drizzle a bit after 30 minutes of tethering so we packed up quickly - don't want to put a wet envelope in a storage bag - and called it a successful day.




After church last evening we stopped at a local brewery pub on the way home and had dinner and a few beers. Nice way to cap off the day.

 

Wife's birthday party yesterday went off without a hitch. Housefull as usual. And NO MASKS! It was great.
Now we're getting lake effect snow off Michigan and Erie, like regular snow isn't enough.

 

I'd like to see pics of that bike, sounds pretty cool. I've been enjoying my new ebike when the weather permits. I had a couple good weeks and was riding it back and forth to work, it's a lot of fun and it does get me some excersize too. Better than none at all. My knees are going so the ebike makes it so I can still ride and enjoy bicycling. Weather is turning cold here in Michigan again so I wont be riding next week, it's just not enjoyable to me when its below 40. People have this idea in their heads that riding an ebike is cheating and you dont get any excersize on one and that's not true. You just choose how much assist you want or need, or just hit the throttle when needed for some fun or to jet access an intersection. It makes it so that I'm still riding, I can go farther, and my knees don't ache when I get off the bike. I still do the things I did in my youth, I just do them differently or slower. I'm not ready to stop being active or living life. This ebike is a great tool, its a lot of fun, gets me outdoors and active still.

 

Enjoy the retirement for many years. Are you going to do a celebratory spoil the grandchildren tour?

Good Morning Porch Pals & Gals. Time for more of the same. Will the dryer do Sunday loads? Fixing to find out. Covered all the probable parts causes, and vacuumed out the vent - then put a fitting I could clean on it.

 

TSDZ2 52V system with the 860C display (controller). It's a torque-assist, no hand throttle (Texas legal). I went with a 42T front pocket that replaced my old triple chainring (30/39/52). The 42T gear ring gives 8 to 26mph at 90 rpm cadence with my ten-speed rear cluster. My motor reduces torque-assist above 90, giving zero assists above 100 rpm.

I have a 2.2-mile test loop. There are five loops, the first two with zero assists (battery turned off). 100 ft elevation change gets the HR up. If I push it, my top speed is around 20 mph. The third loop was with "power assist two" (nine levels of assist, 0 being none, 8 being the maximum). The fifth loop was at "assist level four ."The most significant advantage is that it is much easier on my knees.

I used blue painter's tape to hold wiring in place, make sure my trike still folds, adding drip loops. I'll post photos once I have everything nice and neat. I need to pick up my zip ties. I'm looking into custom firmware with zero assists under 12 mph to give a maximum range. Once I am moving, keeping a high cadence, I'm good.

Dryer dries the first batch in normal time again!

And I love it when the WalMart shoppers ignore the nice cuts they put out about once a week. Always walk by the meat cooler anyway, so I look for yellow. All Angus Choice, 2 nice ribeyes, 3 nice strips, all can be cut for dinner for two. And...~30% off!

 

Man! That would be great. I thought about that years ago, but I don't have enough beam structure in the right place. I even thought of moving the attic entrance to under the ridge beam. That was quickly nixed by the local building inspector. I would have to put in a bigger ridge beam, along with additional framing at each end, down to the foundation.

 

I'd settle for the fountain of middle age.

 

Chores for the day done for me. More pots in and out of bleach bath, cut my greenhouse panels, and look at this!!



That's right, I can actually store the whole shebang where I planned! In my garage, without additional changes! Time to watch the boys at COTA and .

 

Good morning fellow Porchatonians!!! It's 16F and we had snow squalls all yesterday - white outs at times. The ground is snow coated and highs today are supposed to be about 20. Is it December already?

 

Same here, snow yesterday, lows in the teens, never got above the 20s yesterday for highs. Teens again for the next 2 days. Highs in the 30s. Winter is back.
50s Wednesday and Thursday but rain.

 

Porchatonians Arise..
27° here.
Management decision this weekend as I have no snowblowers immediately available.
Everything winter is put away.
Tractor has been converted back to grass.
All the work on the mower deck has paid off as no more grinding from various pulleys.
Utility trailer has been moved to the summer spot.
Boat has been pulled up and staged to be next in the garage.
Pressure washer came out and washed the Harley and the back part of shed.
Bike has been fired up and so far seems to be ok. No signs of corroded plug wires.
Still need to get it fully warmed up and run down the road to check if the carb is ok.
Push mower will be checked later.
Weather is suppose to suck this week so the generator will stay where it is for now.
So, it has begun.

 

New plugs, oil change, filters, etc. for the generator yesterday. I noticed there's no place I can easily jump start it, if needed. Small battery terminals don't lend themselves to big clamps. For now, I could use the starter + terminal and frame ground if needed. I'll have to fix that when it warms up a bit. Meanwhile, a battery maintainer and test, and it's good to go.

 

Sounds to me like the pressure washer pulls duty as snow blower, but what do I know? I've only seen snow four times in my life. (Bragging!)

Gotta love when this happens, I know I have an arrow fletcher SOMEWHERE, but I can't find it!

I'll never figure this out either! Most prices are OOC and with what's happening in Ukraine the stock market keeps going up, I would have thought the opposite, but that just shows what I know. That could change in the blink of an eye though.
I grabbed a bunch of PPL a couple months ago, they cut the dividend from around 6% to around 3%, and earnings come out on, May 4th. I've seen stocks rise prior to reporting earnings, and even if they beat earnings estimates they fall prior the earnings report, some time they keep rising after they beat earnings estimates, decisions, decisions, as for what to do! Would hate to leave a pile of money laying on the table, but also would hate to lose decent cap. gains that are there for the taking , now I know why people have money managers!
