On my home from Hollister Hills SVRA last night, my boy Blue clocked 350,000 miles on the odometer. So far, the Taco has been the best vehicle I have ever owned. I've had a lot road trips over the years and I've enjoyed exploring California, Arizona, and Nevada. I've used the truck for work with the bed full of equipment, drums, 275 gallon totes or scrap metal. I've towed air compressors and cargo trailers for work. For 6 years when my sons were in HS, I hauled a Uhaul trailer every summer for their XC team to either Mammoth or Flagstaff. Blue is no longer my daily driver, so the annual mileage has dropped. I currently drive a Rav4 Prime as my daily. My truck is now my off-road camping vehicle.

I routinely change the oil at around 7-9k miles with Mobil 1 and Toyota oil filter. Spark plugs every 35k miles(Denso stock plugs). Drain and fill approximately 3 qts of transmission oil every 100k miles. I was experiencing weird shifting from the transmission recently, so I changed replaced the transmission filter, cleaned the pan, and added lubeguard. Problem solved. I didn't track my battery replacements, but I'm on my 3rd battery. I replaced the diff fluid after returning from a long towing trip. Air filter has been sporadically replaced, I never tracked it, but I would inspect it during oil changes and clean it after off roading trips. The throttle body has been cleaned a few times.

Thanks to all the TW peeps who have posted maintenance tutorials, truck mods, organized group buys and trips, commented on maintenance issues to right the ship, and the creative TW members who either sold their products or services. My truck is still running like a top because of TW. It took 14 years to reach 350k. I can't wait for the 400k milestone.

I'm not sure if these folks still have their Tacos, but I still have some miles to go before I catch up to these guys. Also, if you want your truck to reach this milestone don't be a 2010 James or wreck your truck at 35 mph like the guys on Reddit.

This is awesome. I love reading posts like this, my truck is just a baby but I hope to put as many miles on it as you have yours.

Still a beautiful rig, hopefully you get many more miles out of it!

Amazing the front wheel bearings made it to 280k. Mine went at 100k

Replaced them with “kind of expensive good” aftermarket ones. And of course, again at 134k.
I didn’t learn anything from the first time. I went with “cheaper” aftermarket this time.

    We’ll see:fingerscrossed:

Oh, they were howling at 200k. I just procrastinated installing them and I bought them from the banned TW member.

At 300k I had the carpet, roof liner, and seats cleaned. Exterior was waxed. Afterwards, family and friends were saying the truck was looking new again. A few friends were shocked at the mileage and how well the truck has held up.

Thats Awesome. Im assuming its a pre-runner since you didn’t mention a front diff or the ECGS bearing/bushing swap.

I'm not surprised. I'm at 223,000 and hope for 400,000. But it will take a while to get there. For the 1st 9 years I owned her I averaged 20,000 miles/year. I've only put about 45,000 on it in the last 6 years.

Sheesh, and I thought I was bad milking mine for another ~20k after they started howling (ended up being replaced at around ~200k).

Anyway, great thread! Love reading these!

It's a Prerunner. In his photos you can see the Prerunner badge on the tailgate, plus the 4x4 logo omitted from the mud flaps (and it's also listed under his username).
