Since I have to ask I don't need it, at least I don't think I do.

What does said clock spring do?

It goes between your steering and where it mounts to your truck.
It houses all the wiring to make most of the electronics work.

being as this mounts to the steering wheel it is wound in a way that allows the steering wheel to turn. When your steering wheel comes off it is easy to install.

The one in my gen 2 was broken, so I bought a replacement, and never ended up needing to change it.

Thanks foe the explanation. I've never had one fail but now I'll know if it does.

Not enough bandwidth on the internet to list.
Thanks for asking because I was wondering, too!
