i drove a huge Ford F350 for work for years. great truck. a WORKTRUCK. i got promoted into a supervisor Civil Engineering position 6 months ago. no more wheelbarrels or survey equipment to haul around for work. i traded one of my employees my pristine truck for his Chevy Volt. he lived closer to work and needed the truckbed. after scrubbing down the volt, i tried it as a plug in. first i thought it was stupid. it gave me 50 miles on a full charge. but oddly enough, it is perfectly enough. it gets me to my distant office, and i used gasoline home, and i plug it in at that local office..and repeat.

it got me thinking about supplementing my aging Tacoma with a plug-in. for my personal life. if i could rooftop my huge kayak..game changer.

i went fishing last weekend and my fuel bill was $120 for a one-day jaunt to a far away lake full of largemouth bass. :( times are changing.
