How feasible is it to remove the tech package fob stuff?

I bought a used 2019 tacoma. Love a lot about it. Have a complicated relationship with some of the tech on it.

My understanding is that the push button ignition is on there because of some tech package. Anyone have any clue how reversible that is? I enjoy the bling spot monitoring, which I think is part of the package. Not sure what else there is. But I'd love to have a normal key. The push button and fob make me uneasy.

It would be a major revision and would cost thousands of dollars. The push button start is here to stay, just give it a bit and get used to it. It took me a couple of weeks but now when I drive my girlfriends Subaru with the old school key it seems like a pain in the ass. You still have a manual key blade inside the fob to get in the door if needed and you can hold the fob up to the start button if the key battery goes dead. The old style key really has no advantage. Just my $.02. Enjoy the new truck!

In what way does it make you "uneasy"?

if you're concerned about the fob constantly broadcasting radio frequency and potentially copied by sophisticated thieves, you can
    1. get a Faraday's cage style fob cover
    2. turn off the constant broadcasting
option 1 is less fuss, you just gotta remove the cover each time you want to get into and start the truck
option 2 is a bit more work, turning off the constant broadcasting you won't be able to use keyless entry

As mentioned in the comment above me you can turn off the key. I don’t view it as any kind of hassle but people really like to say “faraday cage”.
Hold the lock button and press unlock twice. The light on the fob will blink a coupe times and it will stop transmitting. To turn it back on, press any button.
Takes less time than placing your keys in a ghetto, crappy looking aluminum foil envelope eerrrr... I mean...“faraday cage”

You could always get a manual Tacoma, or trade in for an SR5 or lower trim. All of which have keyed ignitions.

I was looking at a new Bronco the other day that was a manual, but it also had push to start. Not the only manual out there with PTS, but I thought the Bronco 7 speed would have a keyed ignition.
