unless you have something that will run your whole house.....

You can hot switch without interrupting mains. Nice feature.

mine sits tucked away in the garage and hopefully I only start it a few times a year to verify it’s working and not needed lol.

The predators don’t have an auto start feature so there’s no chance of that happening anyhow. Everything would be manual with the setup. And I forgot to mention yes, I store mine with ethanol free good old unleaded gas. I keep a 5 gallon jug of the “good stuff” available at all times.

Hope the emergency is a short one. In FL I plan for 10 hours per day for a min of 1 week.

sorry. I should clarify the 5 gallon jug is for filling for long term storage. I’ve got a 20 gallon gas tank in my 4runner I can siphon out of.

I also don’t lose power too often I’m in the middle of two reclosers and a substation with a CT, the longest I’ve ever gone without juice was maybe 6 hours. Obviously an individual should prepare a restoration plan based on their local conditions.

I use the Harbor Freight stuff, no big deal as long as you know what you're getting into.....

Just picked up these today and got 10% off because I asked, really.

Have you done a test siphon? It's pretty hard to siphon gas out of newer vehicles. Most have a screen preventing this.

cant say I have but this truck is from 1987 back when you couldn’t put a down payment on a house with a tank of gas, so theft wasn’t quite as much concern LOL.

thanks, it’s all stock and unmolested. Needs a new dash pad and it burns a bit of oil so i believe some valve seals. One day I’ll be putting around town in it!

I have 2 5g Wavian cans plus my 2g jug of fuel, plus I plan to have the genny's 6.8g tank full as well. How much fuel do you recommend @golfindia ?

How big is the tank and how long will it run? What are your needs then figure from there. Will you need to run 24/7? My generac 7500 has a 9gal tank and will run for 12hrs on that iirc. I store it dry but usually have 5-10 gals of gas in the shed anyway. If weather is coming where an outage is likely I'll get another 5-10gals depending on what's predicted. My house is well insulated so I don't need to run it all night to keep warm in the winter (and it's so loud I wouldn't want to). Refrigerators can easily go without power 12-24hrs if you don't keep opening the door. Our longest outage here was 6 days. I'd run the genny 4-5hrs in the morning then same again late afternoon into the evening. Iirc 25g got me through that and I could have stretched that out longer easily.

Depending on how much you know about bodywork, I’d give those backing blocks a quick sand/polish and round off the edges with a sander or flap disc. Those should last for years. I have an older Eastwood kit that I’ve had for almost 20 years.

Good to know, thanks for the tip. This is really my first dabble into body work!
