    2013 5 lug 2tr-fe Tacoma Super White
    Hi All,

I think this is my first post, but I've been lurking for sometime now.
I've got a 2013 5 lug 4cyl with 4spd auto tranny in 2019 and have been using it as daily driver.

Been looking at different power adders for a while, the URD supercharger kit looked cool but it is sold out. I've also heard mixed things from various locations on web, a few from these forums. This led to delay in moving on it and now it seems I've waited too long.
Moving on to other forced induction options, I started doing some looking online for an exhaust manifold for a turbo for the 2tr-fe and happened across a Japanese company to provides a SC kit for the HiAce, a van from Toyota, built on the 2TR-FE.

Link to HiAce Wiki (the 5th generation uses the 2TR-FE on gas)
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_HiAce#Fifth_generation_(H200;_2004)

    Link to kit
    https://www.blitz.co.jp/products/compressor/compressor-hiace.html

link to breakdown of parts (& dyno results)
    https://www.blitz.co.jp/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/2019-0076EN.pdf

The HiAce in question uses an A343e, not too dissimilar from the A340 used in the Tacoma or Hilux.
The Blitz company has been providing these roots style blowers for the Yaris community for some years... Found posts all the way back to 2007. Seems to be trend in their products of providing just enough boost to improve drive without taking too many years off the ride itself.

I've found it very difficult to search for more info on the HiAce supercharger, as most pages are in Japanese. Though i have found some with google translate as well as some pictures that indicate it may be a direct fit.
Comparing the model number of the stock air intake manifold, both use the same part number (Tacoma 2TR-FE vs HiAce 2TR-FE)
This implies to me that the only real work needed would be possibly in the fuel controller, as the original on the HiAce was tuned for boost on a van that needed the extra oomph.

This is a roots style blower, something i have not seen before in my research for boosting the 2TR-FE, seems like it could help a lot in the low end with a little more grunt. Seems like it could also be paired with an LCE header to gain some power control on the low end of power band. Other options with roots style involve using a 3RZ adapter, which requires source more of your own hardware and adapters.

The kit overall is marked down at $3500 across most places I look, which seems like a decent price.
the URD kit as a comparison is 5k, but is also a stage 2 setup for a bump to around 230hp at wheels
The HiAce kit would only get you up from the stock 100-130ish at wheel up to around 140-170. (dyno shows a gain of ~36 hp)

I'm not jumping in at this price point, as it is a bit too rich for my blood given the cost per pony, plus the risk that it may not fit.
Main goal was to share what I've found and see if anyone else has any experience, or any input on the matter (besides "buy a v6")

I'm torn between building out a turbo kit, between chinesium parts and whatever else I could find, or maybe taking plunge on this if I cant find any compelling reasons not to. The main appeal of one of these kits is skipping out on getting a tuner or piggyback to deal with the air/fuel ratio.

You think they’re safe to buy from? I mean it kinda looks legit, since it’s not just one supercharger they’ve made im just not sure. If they’re fairly cheap I’d love to get one

Honestly I’d hit up URD and see when you can get the kit. I’ve met the owner in person at local car meets and I’m not by any means a URD advocate but his kit will work out of the box and it’s all quality stuff. I’ve looked into this stuff extensively. There’s a reason his kit comes with a tune, piggy back ECU, higher flow fuel pump and the such. It works like you would expect it to out of the box and the guy backs his products. I’ve had the pleasure of asking him a ton of questions and his kit doesn’t cut corners hence the price tag.

I see you just took G’s word for it. :pout: Sorry to say my friend you’re making a big mistake‼️ Ask me how I know! I will show you photos of what I had and what I have now. You really should Google “Rotrex supercharger issues”!!! Guys just hang on for a little while longer and you be able to bolt on some Torque & HP coming soon. I’m the Test Mule / Guinea Pig for the Magnuson supercharger system.
Had this POS below‼️ Oh, there’s a little promo video on Instagram (turn on the volume, enlarge it to watch & enjoy) by the tuner that hasn’t been posted on YouTube yet as the vendor is still waiting on the blowers from Magnuson.

HAVE NOW‼️ This supercharger absolutely will not fail like the Rotrex does! I will be 100% up front it doesn’t have a intercooler so I added a Snow water methanol system to cool the charge into the cylinder. All the REAL magic comes from the tune!

I’ve also had some curiosity about that Blitz system for some time as well. I was able to get a link to their installation guide online:

    https://www.blitz.co.jp/support/manual/compressor/bcs_10197_manual.pdf

It’s all in Japanese, but perhaps if you are more familiar with the engine bay than I am, the pictures may give you a better idea if it will work or not. It does look like it sits very similarly and has a similar parts list as the LC engineering systems for the 2 and 3rz.

If I can get the pdf translated I’ll be sure to add that here for further review.

I thought about buying this twin screw a while back but never pulled the trigger. Emailed the company. They are out of china. They said that they have a version that fits the Tacoma.
