Question...? Bought my truck and found that the leaf spring is broken & they clamped it together with hose clamp (yes a damn hose clamp). Can't seem to find any 2009 Toyota Tacoma's in any salvage yards...are there any other Toyota trucks that are compatible?

Call the dealership and see if you truck was under the recall. Then tell them what you found. They “might” help you.

They replaced mine under recall for broken springs. Mine hadn’t broken yet.
    But it was still recalled.

This^^^^. 2009 is covered under the rear leaf recall. They don’t have to be broken to replace under the recall. The reason for the recall is it is known that those leafs are faulty and can crack and break , rupture the fuel tank and cause a fire. Then me personally I’d go have a serious conversation with the seller about his lack of candor.

If a dealership sold that to me I would leave bad reviews anywhere I could.

I've contacted everyone possible about this Used Dealership in Missouri. I filed a complaint with BBB and I posted a well written review on their page. I am half tempted to pay someone to stand outside their business with signs and blast them out. It's been a bad situation all the way around. Don't get me wrong...the truck has been great other than check engine codes and now leaf spring situation. Just working out the kinks and trying to find the small evap leak....it's driving me crazy. Taking it 1 step at a time but will get it done. It's what happens when you buy used.

Have you tried posting in your regional forum to source some leafs that way? Most people who've done lifts or long travel have their stock parts taking up space somewhere.

I get an evap code every few years on my truck and a new gas cap seems to fix it. Hopefully your solution is that simple!

If you are going used, take a look at the pic below.
Make sure the used are the updated ones.

You could also crawl under yours and see what ones are on it now:thumbsup:

I want to Thank Everyone for their help. Toyota is replacing them under the recall. It'll be 3 weeks before they get the parts but at least they're going to replace them. They're also going to check any other recalls that truck hasn't had done also.
