    Hey everyone.

I don't currently own a Tacoma, but I am avidly shopping for one. I have found one I'm going to look at this weekend and had a couple of questions from what I have seen and what I've read.

The Tacoma is a 2020 TRD Sport with just over 8k miles. It has good service records, and everything looks pretty pristine. The carfax report lists and accident with damage to the drivers rear of the truck. From all the photos I have seen any damage has been repaired. The truck does have bed channel stiffeners on it. Is this something I should be worried about? I've never dealt with a composite bed, could there be issues with it and these added to "fix" the problem? I realize this is difficult to answer not seeing the vehicle in person or knowing the vehicles history. I know it came from NY (I'm in KY). It has an added light bar, and a few other extras, but overall looks like a clean truck. I just want to know if there is anything out of the ordinary I should check/verify while looking the truck over.

Thanks for you insight and advice!

Bed stiffeners shouldnt (hopefully) be used to repair damage. They were likely used by the previous owner to reinforce a rack or shell.

It's pretty rare for a non-totalled wreck to reach the composite, let alone damage it. Still, if you fall in love with the truck, have it appraised by an independent shop.
