It’s also possible they were bad at driving. I’ve outran a r6 with my super tenere.. which shouldn’t be possible but it’s easy when a squid can’t corner

Bad drivers are definitely a thing. When the Eagle Talon guy misses his shift into second, and my Pathfinder doesn't... It's almost embarrassing

    Yup. This

Iirc, they helped with the 3M, 3S-GTE, and maybe the 2jz also.

They're at the top of my list if I ever buy a bike.

I agree, a Tacoma would look good there. Or anywhere. Tacoma. Buy a Tacoma.

    Or if you must…the Datsun.

Not being a troll, 100% serious, I just don't like the third gen Tacoma. I was so set on buying one I even bought some parts ahead of time a while back but the powertrain is just not good (in my opinion.) I know they hold their value well, I know they are good off road, and their aftermarket support is second only to Jeeps, but I know I would be unhappy driving one, especially if I went with bigger tires/added weight.

Yeahhhh. I had one of the first 3rd gens.. I still wouldn’t buy an auto even with gears and tuning now available

you can skip to the 4th gen. It’ll either be awesome or a total dumpster fire.

Yeah I'm hoping the 4th gen will be better. I'm also interested to see what the next 4Runner will be like though admittedly I don't have very much faith it will be good in the ways that an enthusiast would like.

I love our 4Runner. I drove it on a few trips . I would be worried that the new gen 4Runner will switch to the Tacoma engine/Trans.
God I would love a new 4RUNNER based on gen 1 with the removable top. 4FCE4834-FD3E-49E7-A928-92207F882F1C.jpg The 1985 4Runner was on my bucket list. I’d sell my Tacoma and cash a few investments!

Not sure if it’s true but the 4Runner had rumors of not being built in Japan for North American sales soon. A giant cost savings for Toyota.
