    Background,

I installed the Prinsu roof rack October of 2021, didn't put in any sealant, and only put some silicon oil :annoyed:. Curious what everyone has used to seal the screw holes that attach the prinsu to the truck. I want to clean up and properly seal it before rust gets on the roof. If answered already please guide me in the correct direction.

    Thanks,
    -Z

I have the KC M-rack but I dabbed a squirt of silicon onto the screw holes where the spacers go, then I also squirted more silicon into the threaded hole before tightening the mounting screws.

I used some silicone around the bolt holes and the bolts themselves. With that being said I will be taking them out once the drier weather arrives here in Washington and swapping them out with stainless steel hardware to prevent rust. I will again seal them with silicone. A good idea is to “cap” seal the head of the bolts also to prevent moisture from getting under the head of the bolts and creating corrosion issues. Just my 2 cents!

I used big ol gob of rtv in each bolt hole and the trim piece fits very snugly around the riser so far everything has been water tight for almost 2 years

I also used RTV into the screw hole. Too many "Leaky" stories for me, had to use some preventive measures.
