I use one bed box as a trash can. I store some straps in the other one. The left side (cooler) is almost filled with water after one nights rain, but the right side is dry.

Taking them out next month when I order a Lomax tonneau.

The suspension on the TE is junk. I rubbed with a 31.6" in certain situations. I've got 5800 miles on my TE replaced the front struts around 2600 miles.

If you had a more firm shock at the TE factory Height, Id say you'd be ok.

Quoting myself because I thought of a few things I wanted to add:

I’ve seen no evidence of “gear hunting”. It drives about the same as any other 6-speed auto vehicle I’ve driven.

Gas mileage isnt terrible. The end of trip summary that comes up when you park the truck showed 25.3 mpg for a 32 mile drive in to work this morning. Most of it was highway. I’ll take that any day.

My first tank showed an average of 15-16mpg. Second tank bumped up to 20.5. Hopefully it goes up a little more as we fill up more.

Sorry if this has been asked before but has anyone found a rubber bed mat for the TE? Also a fold up hard cover for the bed?

I would try the standard one. Remove boxes, install mat, replace boxes on top. I bet it would work.

Seems the Army Green and Lunar Rock are the most popular colors we are seeing on here.

I had no choice as I took whatever truck and color (white) the dealership had coming that wasn't allocated or pre-sold. I do like the Black with the bronze wheels and accents just wish they woulda offered Barcelona Red color for the SR5 Trail Edition that red with the bronze wheels and accents and black interior woulda just popped in the sun.

I will say this after owning black vehicles in the past the white is much easier to clean and keep clean

white is sweet as hell imo

I honestly thought AG LR were the only two. I didn’t know anything about the trail edition until the dealer sent me the spec sheet. I was looking for a base model truck for work coming from a 2002 pre runner. Someone ended up bailing on a TE so I was able to grab my army green.

    lets see some more!!

Curious if anyone has done this, or has thoughts on it, but I have some questions around adding some light switches. I will have a bumper light bar, fog lights and a rear light bar going on my camper shell. I would love to put all of those switches on the left side of the wheel using this, above the bed lighting buttons. My questions are:

    1. Could you possibly move the traction control button to the open button space to the right of the outlet button?
    2. Could i then put the 3 panel switch where the traction used to be?

See photos for what I mean. Any thoughts!?

Hi there. If I recall the traction control switch is a "small sized" switch like the auto highbeam and AC inverter switch. That blank switch is a toyota large size. Can someone correct me if I am wrong.

There probably is a larger traction control switch out there that you could swap the wiring harness between the older, and smaller switch. Looking forward to your build. I am waiting on my Switch Pro 9100 to arrive so I can get my lights wired up.
