What’s up everyone, so I’m having a little trouble with my rear suspension that I hope can be a pretty cheap fix. My rear suspension set up seems a bit stiff and I’m not sure what it could he. Along with just feeling the ride quality, I can look into my mirrors while driving down the road or highway and see the bed of my truck shaking. I’m not sure if it’s related but my truck also likes to shake when breaking (feels like the whole truck is shaking kind of like a manual stalling). Any ideas on what I can do to remedy this other than keeping a good amount of weight in the bed at all times? Possibly new rear shocks that are a different height?

    Anyway, here is the setup:
    Wheelers Offroad 1.5” Add-a-Leaf

Eibach Pro Truck Rear Shocks (Came with Eibach Pro Truck stage 1 Lift Kit)

I appreciate all of your help!

Start with the tires. What are they, E load, metrics? How much pressure are you running. Have they been balanced?

I still have the stock Goodyear Wrangler Kevlar tires that come on 3rd Gen TRD Offroad 265/70/16. They are currently sitting at 33 psi on all 4

Are these new mods? Has it always been this way? Assuming you have a 2019 Offroad ?

yep 2019 TRD Offroad. I installed the Eibach Pro Truck Lift Stage 1 and Wheelers 1.5” AAL about a couple of months ago and honestly it’s been a pain after getting the Needle Bearing fixed I thought all was good but it’s been pretty stiff since I installed it.

When you torqued the leafs, was the truck off the lift and weight on the leaf springs? Regardless what does Wheelers say about the AAL? generally they say something like “for trucks carrying additional 500 lb constant weight”.

Also did you add any angles shims under the leaf springs? General recommendation is 1 degree for each inch of lift. This may help with the new vibrations.

honestly that’s a good question I can’t remember, I will recheck the torque. It doesn’t say anywhere on the Wheelers site or description for the add a leaf about a constant load.

Adding an leaf will increase your spring rate and stiffen your ride quality along with raising your ride height. No surprises here.

Thank you all for the help! I retorqued everything again, which could have been part of the whole "shaking" problem but I will only be able to tell later on today once I do some driving. If it doesn't I guess it will just be something I live with until I replace the leaf pack, hopefully with one that has the same 1.5" lift.
