I bought two front runner double jerry can mounts thinking that their ‘universal’ specification meant that They would mount on any roof rack. Not the case, not even with prinsu load panels (still not sure what those are for).

so i’m left with four jerry cans, the two frontrunner double jerry can mounts, and no gas on top of my truck

    any ideas?

I don't see anywhere on the product page that says it's "universal". Bolt hole spacing looks to be designed only for the Front Runner racks and the description states: "...designed to easily bolt to the Front Runner Roof Racks using the flat slotted slats in the rack."

What's the issue that you're running in to? Seems like this should be a pretty simple modification to get it to mount to a Prinsu. You may need to replace the hardware, enlarge the holes in the base of the mount (for the new hardware), or drill new holes in the bottom of the mount which line up with your crossbars, or drill new holes in the mount and/or load panel.

If your Prinsu is like mine (6 year old Access Cab Rack), there's some slots where you could move one of the crossbars to make it line up with the holes in the can mounts by adjusting the spacing. As long as the front/rear bars are in the right place and there's multiple interior crossbars, moving one around shouldn't cause any strength of stability issues for the rack itself.
