Hello, I have a 06 Tacoma and in the process of figuring out why my shifter is stiff every now and then. I managed to get the shifter linkage off and now she won’t go back on!
Anybody got a phot of how the linkage connects to the transmission.

I believe the second photo goes up against the transmission.

I realize it only goes on one way but the slot appears to have a special fit and I can’t find it! The stud has a slot but backs up against the round end and won’t go any further. Help please!

Ok she’s on. I guess the shaft didn’t stick out that far after all. Looks like I will need a new shifter shaft because the end has been stripped somewhat. I would ask how hard that job will be but,,,,,,,,,,
