I have the Fox Speedframe Pro and love it. Nice airflow, light, and the magnetic clip is great when riding with gloves.

    Nice!

I'm waiting on the same wheels. Should be here in a month or so.

These wheels have been great for me so far! I have put about 1,400 miles on them on my previous build and they have never needed to be trued and I’ve never gotten a flat. I’d love to go carbon one day, but my Eagle setup took all my money haha.

Those Eastons are like 90% as good as carbons for half the price. They're a no brainer to me. Easton has done a great job with their aluminum offerings. It's hard for me to justify paying a ton more to save a few hundred grams. Especially since the aero benefits of carbon vs aluminum is so minimal once you slap a big gravel tire on.

Good points. Also no point in replacing something that’s still in great working order with 0 issues

I ordered a set of I9 wheels in December, i`m hoping they show up before the real prime riding season! Wait times are pretty long but they`re at least up front about it when you order. Are the other manufacturers backed up at this point also?

That seems kind of wild, we get in I9 hubs at the shop all the time and same with WAO rims. What did you order?

Enduro 1/1 wheels, they say 120 days when you order. You can get components quicker and i think if you get jammed up and call them, they get parts out quick to get people riding again.

I have a set of I9 Trail S 1/1 wheels inbound for the SS shortly. If carbon is a consideration, the guys at We Are One Male great wheels, and I had my most recent set from them (Factions) in hand in only 2-3 weeks.

Ahhh... A sign of a good wheel builder, lining up a valve with the logo on the hub

Also, first time this season on of one of the most fun rides in the area.

Not looking for carbon. I'm still relatively new to mountain biking so I make dumb mistakes. I don't think carbon is a worthwhile investment for me at the present time. I was more after the higher engagement hub more than anything and the angry bee sound you get from the I9's!
In the future, I may have to keep them in mind. For now, I'm going to stick it out. I knew the wait when I ordered and I do have a perfectly good, functioning set of wheels on the bike now so it's not like it's impacting my riding. I should have the ones I ordered in a few weeks at this point.

Seconded. I’ve given Ryan a shout out or two here before. I haven’t purchased a wheelset from him yet, but I have gotten a Pike Ultimate and Push coil shock through him. Both at very competitive pricing and top shelf CS.

I love these wheels they came out great and i think for 1050$ it was a good price for a custom wheelset. Probably will get a set of his wheels for all my bikes eventually.

Kind of like Maxxis tires, they just work.

That magnetic clip is a total game changer

I have a 2014 Ultegra Cannondale CAADX Disk CX bike. I mainly ride it on the state/national park gravel access roads.

It has single piston mechanical disk brakes which are not great. Actually they kind of suck. I guess where I ride I never really need to stop in a hurry which is a good thing.

Anyone have any experience with mechanical disks and have any upgrade recommendations? The brakes are listed on the build sheet as a Cannondale branded brake but it looks like they are a Bengal MB700.

I don't really see it being cost effective to switch to hydraulic brakes.

I am really trying to fight off the new bike bug but...

I always hear BB7s as the recommended mechanical disc brakes. I have a set and once they are setup, they work great. idk if its just my bike, but I have a terrible time getting them just right.

    I'll second BB7s.

Theyll be a relatively big upgrade from the brakes that came on those Cannondales. They were always frustrating to find the balance between working decently but also not rubbing.

I had looked at the BB7s. Sounds like they might be worth giving a shot.

    Thanks for the feedback!
