Has anybody found a cheap and easy solution to the low center hanging of the cross pipe(exhaust )on the V6‘s I high centered that thing last weekend and I’m not sure exactly the best way to try to reroute the pipes or should I just put armor under it?

I built armor around mine for now, but will have a reroute done at some point and adjust my armor. Shouldn't be but $1-200 to get the exhaust work done.

URD. Not cheap but works. Otherwise have an exhaust shop reroute.

    Work in progress...
I use to worry about that bend hitting the rocks or something. Mine has a few scrape and ding marks on it but I don't think I've hit it too hard yet. Did you damage your exhaust system when you got high centered? I was planning on a reroute but California smog test are getting friggin ridiculous.

Yeah, I hit it pretty hard I heard it when I high centered ,I get on some pretty aggressive trails it’s the only thing that’s been hit except for the hitch

Even with a leveling kit and 285/70 tires I also put the aftermarket TRD skid on the front

I got my exhaust rerouted behind the transfer case an got RCI's skid intended for exhaust reroute that sits flush. Best an cheapest way to go IMO. The reroute costed around $170 here.
    RCI skids.jpg

Rerouting the exhaust shouldn't affect it passing emissions, all you're doing in rerouting some of the pipe, and its just that, pipe. As long as you're not removing the catalytic converters or muffler there should be no issues with smog/emissions.

I just did the same thing, got the re-route and full RCI skid plates with cat protectors. The muffler shop should be able to reroute without issues when you talk to them. Some reroutes are front of the t-case and others are back. If you can swing skid plates that will help as well. Another nod for the RCIs!

Damn, that’s one of the better reroutes I’ve seen. Some are just plain bad haha.

Scott @ A A Performance Exhaust in Englewood, CO did mine. Lot of positive reviews for them on TW as they have been doing them for a number of years. I scheduled it with them and was done in 30 minutes @ $200. A little more on the high-end but well worth the price. We are in Dallas and I worked a trip to CO just to get the exhaust reroute done and the RCI skids installed as they are providing that service now as well. For us it worked because our oldest lives North of Denver so I was able to use a trip to see him as an excuse to spend some money on the new truck!

I think any shop can do it and if they look at the pictures of both styles (front or rear) to come up with a solution. I preferred having it in the front just to keep things closer to the cross member and the heat shield that sits in front of the t-case. YMMV

That is how it should have looked when it left the factory! Should help from banging on things now!

    Hello all,

does anyone know if the stock y pipe is aluminum Or 409 stainless? I found a couple shops for the reroute but not all are equipped with 409. I know it may not matter for this short section in this location but I would prefer to keep it all the same type of metal.
