Who has installed a 1" lift block to improve the stance on stock 3rd gen Tacomas? The install looks easy enough. Can the axle alignment be screwed up? Do the U-bolts rust easily on the aftermarket kits? Is 1" in rear enough to improve the stance? TIA

I have installed 1" blocks in the rear but it was with an Eibach Pro-Truck Stage 2 kit. On the whole it improved the stance. I did do the blocks in the rear one day, and the next day I installed the front... before...

Many people complain about the "rake" of the Tacoma from the factory and look for more of a level stance.
If you are looking for more rake, there isn't really any problem with installing a 1" block on the rear only, but it would be unusual (which is fine).

I guess it's just unclear to me what you mean by "improving the stance". The TRD kit, for example, provides a 2" suspension lift in the front and a 1" block in the back to "improve the stance".

I will have a eibach 1” block to remove from my truck once my new leaf pack goes in…

I mean rake is there for a reason. Leveled truck carrying a light load in the back squats like crazy. Unsafe and looks funny to me.

With some weight in back, the front seems too high and gets light on the front wheels pretty quickly. Just wondering if a small lift in rear would help that.

If you want to add load carrying capacity, blocks would not be my first recommendation.
While they do raise the rear end, they don't really do much for load situations.

If I wanted to improve load handling for the rear suspension, I'd be looking to either add or replace springs (add a leaf or complete replacement), or look at air bags, which could be inflated "on demand".
Springs would provide more of a "permanent" increase in rear ride height.
Bags could only be utilized when you are carrying a load.

Also your front is higher than it should so you are driving around blinding everyone.

I hear more talk about 1 inch 2 inch or 3 inch on Tacoma World than I do at...the gym. Just saying, It's like late night infomercials.

It would be funny if this was the music video of Cory Hart - Sunglasses At Night, a Canadian artist not allowing Canadians to watch his content!

Just curious how much a 'little' weigh in the back is that makes the front light!?!?!?!

Adding a 1” block alone wont help the stance as the truck already sits higher in the rear. But no, I have zero “axle alignment” issues and if you use quality ubolts and hardware , you shouldn’t experience terrible rust issues.
Using Bilstein 5100’s as well, so the front is lifted enough to make things level. 2” front, 1” rear.

I wouldn’t do blocks alone as that would look funny , but its your truck . You do you.

Blocks are ok, they serve a purpose. I installed 1” blocks and Firestone air-bags the day I picked up my truck. That combo seemed to work well for me on previous Tacomas, not so good this time… I instantly had a consistent vibration at 30mph and couldn’t find the sweet spot to set the bags at for daily driving.
Removed that stuff, installed an Icon 1.5” AAL and Sumo springs. Rides great now, lesson learned I guess.
