First of all, Hello all. I've been reading TW for 10 years but never really needed help. Recently got an 07 Quad cab and driving along at any given speed occasionally it will feel like I'm driving over a rumple strip. I just had the tranny flushed, new fluid and filter.
It almost feels like wheel hop and I'm lost on this one. Any help is greatly appreciated! I've searched on here and found nothing like this problem.

I’d add some lube guard, I’ll bet that clears up the shutter-like symptom.

After they flushed your transmission did they warm it up to 185° and then check the fluid levels

You said you recently purchased this vehicle, so if somebody else tried to change the transmission fluid and didn’t fill it up all the way and then they did a drain flush that just takes out what’s in there and put that amount right back in so if you were short to start with you’ll still be short again
Go for a drive through town come back home crawl in the knees and pull the drain plug if it’s at the correct level you will just see it barely dripping out if you don’t see any drips you might be low

Lube guard is sitting on my desk. Levels are all correct. I work at a shop so I'll try and get it on the lift tomorrow. It doesn't really feel like a shudder. I had a S10(friends truck) that had a shudder. That I used the Hot Shot TSE and in 30 miles it was gone. Not the same feeling. I'm going to take everyone's advice and double check the level again and lube guard oi and keep my fingers crossed. Keep you informed...Thanks

If you drive in 4th gear does it still happen?

I haven't tried that but it seems to happen sporadically in all gears. I'll try that later this morning.

    All stock, baby!
That’s an interesting symptom. Do the 4th gear test as suggested above, should hopefully rule out the torque converter if that doesn’t solve it. Also check your U-joints and carrier bearing.

Just added lube guard anti shudder and headed out. I'll try the 4th gear also. Let you know in a few minutes. Thanks all.

It's not clear if the problem existed before the service, or since the service?

    How many miles?

Might have dislodged some debris while doing the flush and its now causing problems.

Did they use an actual flush machine or was it a drain and fill?

Many places won't trans flush vehicles over a certain milage due to the risk. My 2 local Toyota dealers and well know transmission shop advised against it on my 70k mile Tacoma. All 3 said to do a drain and fill with a new filter and clean the magnets.

When your torque converter begins to fail it starts out as a rumble strip sensation. After a while it turns into a shudder. I did the Instant Shudder fix remedy and it worked for a while but started up again. Once I replaced the converter all of the shudder and rumble strip crap disappeared.

Another possibility is you are feeling a misfire. This happens on my work truck, usually down shifting makes it go away. It doesn’t set off the check engine light just driving normal. I can get it to throw a code only by going up a hill, getting the shudder then full throttle and the check engine light will come on.

The problem existed before and after I had it flushed. That's why I had it done. The truck has 195K on it. It was done with a flush machine. I am retired(no I'm not that old, just lucky) and sort of work at a shop for many years. Definitely not a misfire and no check engine lights. I have my Saabs for that.
MA_TACO thanks for depressing me.... Just got to drive it a couple of miles after adding the lube guard and it didn't do it. I'll take a longer ride tonight and let you know whats up....

I know the feeling when I realized that the torque converter needed replacing. I procrastinated for a year or so and then finally did it. Surprisingly it wasn't a difficult job with the right tools. Took me a whole day to swap it out. It'll take less time for 2wd Tacos.

Thanks all. I put the Lubegard Shudder fixx in through the speed sensor hole and its pretty damn good. Now a little body work (my specialty) paint and I'm good to go. It's just amazing that with a million of these trucks around I can't find a new Toyota or aftermarket fender.

I have a new fender flare still in the box for the right front. Might not be of help.

I have been following your thread for the shudder fix. I decided to try the Lubeguard Shudder fix and REALLY screwed up. Enough so I have to start a new thread for help.

I may take yo up on the flare. I bought a used right front fender with flare. What did you do?

I had a 2013 that had several really deep scratches in the right front fender flare. I got the fender flare from Rock Auto two weeks before I finally found a 2012 TRD. I sold the 13 this week to a large ranching/farming operation and the owner said it was going to be the best Toyota in his fleet even with the scratched fender flare.
My son tells me an automotive paint store can match the paint code with paint in a rattle can.
If you are interested I will give you my email address if we can do that. I check the forum a couple of times a day.
