Reason I got this bad boy is its a quad reciever and has pre outs for both front and rear. I am in search of 2 Sansui BF-A1 Amplifiers to have a nice setup to drive my magnepan mg12s. The QR line might not have the best quad decoders like the better QRX line, but I don't think they had pre outs

Going to have to check that place out. I've been going to Trutone Electronics on dundas. But most of my shopping has been on Canuck Audio Mart.ca. Great website

Curious, what VHS tapes are you keeping? I’ve kept about a dozen from the 300+ I inherited in last 10 years. Still have two working VCRs.

    Zappy/chargey question

I'll explain this the best way I can. I bought a large wireless speaker on super clearance because it "doesn't work". I'm fixing it so that it does. It has regular power for a wall outlet and a chargeable battery for wireless operation (self-contained). 12v SLA 7mah. The one in the unit was @ 2v and unable to charge so I changed it out. Here's the issue: when I plug it in to charge, it works and charges the battery but any time after the power is plugged in, I can't get it to fully turn on afterwards. It's supposed to work both ways and work while charging. It's semi-powered after in that the lights turn on but nothing functions from there. If I open it up and disconnect the battery terminals, reconnect and turn it on, I can use it wirelessly with full battery power. As soon as I plug it in again, same issue returns.

My question is, can I/is it safe to add a switch to the battery terminals that I can switch off as a hard disconnect so I don't have to open it and do it manually? Basically, switch is always open, after I charge, flick the switch to disco battery, then turn back on and leave it.

And it may need to disconnect both terminals

    Yes/no/fuck off?

I've got a huge collection of VHS at my cabin up north. And still looking for a few good movies on VHS if I see them.

I’ll snap a pic of the vhs that didn’t make the “keep list”, but haven’t made it to the dumpster (because hoarding is in my blood). There may be something interesting to you in the lot.

if you're putting a switch in-line with the power going into the system, you'll want a switch that can take on the full rating that would be going into the system.

if too much current flows through an under-rated switch, then it can just "jump" over the switch itself and continue to flow power into the system. this is bad, because it's live power jumping and heating everything around it (can melt the switch and cause fire).

however, you say it's a 2V battery but you also said 12v... which one is it?
if it's 12V, wiring is the same as the truck.
