The 2.7L that did come manual only came with an R-155 5-speed manual. It didn’t come with a 6MT.

And it didn’t come in a DCSB.

Thanks! That's what I've been trying, and apparently failing, to say.

Whether or not it was a 5MT or 6MT, I honestly don't remember, but the ad says 6MT. And it was in fact a DCSB.

The ad says 6MT because it was a V6.

I guess you're not comprehending what I wrote earlier, I opened the freakin' hood and it was definitely an I4 engine in the engine bay.

Not trying to get involved in any arguments but the 4 banger was never paired to a 6 speed MT.

I’m comprehending. But you are mistaken. You must be confusing which vehicle you opened the hood on. You aren’t comprehending that they didn’t make that combination. Your memory is not accurate.

Tacomas were available with a 2.7L and a double cab from 2011-2022.

    All are 2WD.
    All are Automatic.
    All are Short Box.

Toyota has never built a Double Cab 2.7L with a manual transmission. Doesn’t exist.

    Source: Toyota.

^^^^This guy knows. Though I’m still trying to prove that the 2015 2.7L had dual VVT-i

Welllllll, technically, the 2016 and 17 2.7 came with the highly desirable R-156 (I'm splitting hairs here;)

When I did the manual swap on my truck I used the R-156. I found one used with less miles and cheaper than all the R-155’s I could find.

Technically the R156 is an R156F. If we’re splitting hairs.

I didn’t mean to stir up such a buzz here! lol but I appreciate everyone’s input thus far.

I do see 2nd gen 2.7, DCSB, MT but those are rwd. I don’t “need” 4wd but if I’m selling my car now, I figure I might as well upgrade to 4wd.

I’ve decided of the 4 priorities (In order of highest to lowest: DC, 4wd, MT, 2.7l), that I could scrap the 2.7 and just get the 3.5, which means for a 2018+ I’d have to get a TRD just to get a manual. Brand new ones are not much more expensive than used ones, so I’m thinking that’ll be the route to go.

I almost put a deposit down on a 22 Sport coming in 2 weeks, but I think someone just snuck in and beat me to it. :(

Please send a link to one you are finding, because as I mentioned, they were never made. So I'd be very interested in being proven wrong.

On the 4wd yes, 156F. Did they make any 2wd 2.7l manuals?

Yes, I’d love to see this dcsb 2.7L manual trans as well with 2wd. And also the the dcsb 2.7L with the 6spd that was also mentioned above.
