I'm a fan of ProTech. I have Monaco, an SBR, and a Strider SNG Operator. I'm really interested in a button lock (which I do not have in my collection).

A knife is a tool. For what purpose do you find you use your EDC most commonly? Do you sharpen frequently. Can you sharpen properly? Do you prefer a larger grip, or more slimline? Heavier, lighter, opening type? Thousands of good knives under 120$; but the right knife will make you more happy.

Outside of an auto, I’d likely lean toward another brand personally. I have been eyeing a SBR for a while, just cant commit yet for some reason. All personal preference…
Hold that Strider! The prices are goin through the roof on those lately!;)

Who else has a great button lock? I know Civivi has a couple, but I’m honestly trying to not buy Chinese.

Very important questions. Thank you. After a weekend of debating between spyderco and benchmade, I ended up with the bugout 535.

That’s my validation. As we tacoma owners understand, being original isn’t always a good thing.

Spartan Blades Pallas is a button lock. Pricey but such a sweet knife.

Civivi/WE has good quality, “high end” materials and can be rather ornamental or “pretty”. If thats your thing, and you want use is frequently; with no regard to any future value, ie. resale, or potential increase in value or desire as a potential collector item in the years to come. And you are disinterested in the country of manufacture. Then it could be a great knife. Many great reviews on them out there.

That said, I dont have much interest in them, myself. I find there is an additional issue that brushes my fur the wrong way. I browse knives frequently online. To find the newest arrivals has become a longer more tedious process because there are SO many new arrivals of these WE and Civivi knives, there are almost 3 times as many of those as all of the other brands combined on any given day. Many desirable items sell out within minutes of arrival. They just added a whole new layer of dammit to the process…rant complete:annoyed: :)

I carried a 0350 blackwashed for years until I grabbed my current EDC. Good stuff!

I have one too! It’s larger than I typically carry for edc, but it is a TANK.

I just got this today. Kizer Cormorant v3. I guess they were going for a Squid Game vibe. It's also a Chinese brand, unfortunately. But the S35VN is an American steel, so it's all a big circle anyway.

I love Civivi but I can't really recommend their button locks. I currently have 2 with flipper openers and they both have weak detents. Fidget factor is kinda ruined without that good snap opening.

Absolutely agreed. When it came and I opened the box I was almost disappointed at how much bigger it was than I’d expected. But I gave it a chance and it stayed in my pocket for years. Total workhorse

Yes sir. Honestly I like the G10 PM2’s more. This aluminum looks great and it’s noticeably lighter but the reviews are right in that it’s got lock stick and it’s a pocket shredder. Maybe with some usage it’ll break in.
