Hi there, I'm looking for some feedback & thoughts on a half-cage design I am thinking about doing on my current build. My goal for this truck is to be fun, reliable & safe in the desert while maintaining maximum daily-driver comfort & practicality. I got the idea from a Raptor I once saw that had an RPG half-cage; was daily driven & used to pre-run off-road courses for a race team.

The truck: its a daily driven 3rd gen with a +4" JD Fab long travel kit, 934 CVs, JD LCA pivot kit, JD inner fenders on the front & SUA w/ boxed in frame on the rear and will only see about 500 to 1,000 dirt miles/year.

The cage: The "half-cage" concept would be built w/ 1.75" & 2" OD 4130 Chromoly. It would tie into the truck at 4-points; the frame at the B-pillar and tie into the bedcage w/ a fair amount of gusseting. There would be a harness bar mounted to the vertical b-pillar tubes to allow for harnesses in the front seats. Harness bar would be removable & bolted in w/ uni-ball rod ends. All OEM seat belts will remain. All/most airbag would remain. Head liner would be notched to tuck roof tubing up high & tight.

this is a sweet setup but I'd want to complete the interior & do not have the budget for that yet.
