Recently this month my fuel gauage is about half a tank off. With the 21 gallon tank im filling up 19 gallons at the half way mark. I got a new fuel pump about a year ago but the issue hasn't come up until now. Any DIY ways to fix this?

    What year is your truck?
If the tank unit was replaced with a cheap aftermarket one my bet would be that the level sensor is failing.
I'm not near my PC right now so I can't post the resistance specs for the level sensor, maybe @TnShooter can post them if he's around if not I'll get them this evening.

I'm sure that given enough time and money it could be fixed. But I also have a 2007 and wouldn't throw a lot of money at my 15 year old truck. I know from the last 15 years that I get 16-17 mpg for my normal driving and 19-20 mpg on the road. I'd reset the trip meter and fill up at around 250-275 miles for everyday driving and 300ish if on the road. That would leave me 5ish gallons reserve in case I'm wrong or for emergencies.

Even with a working fuel gauge that is about the same miles I fuel up anyway. I'm not one to drive until the low fuel light comes on.
