$700-800 for UCAs is dumb and price gouging. Prove me wrong

Whoa! I take it there will be a decline in Tacomain' and other genres of automotive enthusiasm.

People still like to modify vehicles and will spend big bucks doing so. I saw where the aftermarket manufacturers were making money. I'm just wonder when the bottom will fall out.

I’m not sure if you are just making a joke or not, but the answer seems obvious to me. First and foremost it’s obvious market forces. If someone could make one cheaper and sell it, they would. Secondly, I think the challenge for new manufacturers is the upfront capital costs to obtain the tooling to forge or cast a UCA. (I think they are generally forged yes?). You can machine them from billet as well, but i surmise that it is more expensive per part.

Additionally, there are likely legal liability issues with UCAs that rock sliders do not have.

UCAs likely require a modern engineering and manufacturing process whereas rock sliders can be produced by any guy in a garage with a welder.

    4 run, 2 don't
I'm calling troll on this one, but if not -

It takes some R&D to create said product. Some modeling and trial runs to find out what works best to provide expected results.

The tools used to run said R&D is not cheap, not by a long shot! Do you know what it costs to purchase and maintain a laser cutting setup?

    Material costs have gone up.

    Transportation costs have gone up.

    Labor rates have gone up.

If you're really this bent out of shape over some UCA's, do me a favor and do not inspect the welds on your Tacoma. Much less, measure the thickness of your truck's frame. I guarantee you'll find that there's much more "price gouging" on a vehicle than there is on a set of control arms.

Have you looked into sliders recently? Good luck finding them under $1k after shipping. This does not change the fact that companies may or may not be price gauging lol

Raw sliders are $700-800 dude. Been looking at em all week

Sliders have way more material and labor involved

Nonsense. It’s always a work in progress. I do agree that old tech changes slower though.

I feel like people really don’t know what price gouging actually means.
