Having this installed in the morning. Son in law has a backflip folder. I like it but I travel a lot and with tailgate gaskets I believe this one will be dryer and more secure on long trips. I rarely haul but if I do it removes easily.

Lund Genesis Elite. Super quality. Clamps right onto bed rails. No drilling. Easy on and easy off. Get the Elite version, which has the same material used as OEM convertible roof material. E535B186-60D8-450D-B550-715391F2B2C0.jpg EF1A8AEF-F47B-4ECF-A8E5-6F87824E062D.jpg

I have a Peragon cover on my short bed. I like how easy it retracts and feel secure about its protection. I also like that the installation doesn't require drilling or relocating any of the brackets. The locking mechanism works well. The cover also looks good. Water protection is decent, not 100%, but sufficient for my needs.
While the cover isn't supposed to hold weight, I can confirm that it can support an 8 year old that incorrectly thought dad's truck was a playground.

I think their statements about easy removal are overstated. I have not been able to take the cover out as advertised. At this point I do not believe I can take mine out without tools. The instructions require swinging the stack of slats out of the brackets, however there isn't enough room to do so and the gas piston bracket interferes with the ramps (sorry this really needs pictures but I don't have any).

The BakFlip G2 goes on sale at Amazon periodically (BakFlip store front). I got one for 721 USD + tax a few months ago.

There aren’t many (if any) products that are going to be “water tight” and keep 100% of the water out. Quality covers will keep most of the water out. If you don’t want it to get wet- keep it inside the cab if possible.

Backflip isnt cheap but retracts via folding and has a great combo of aestic/functionality/security. I pad 850ish for mine installed back in 2019.

I got the BAKFlip G2 from Tonneau and I love it. The rolling one didn't seem as secure to me, and if I do have to fold it up and cover the back window, most likely I wouldn't be able to see anyways if it is that bad. I don't have any issues at all with leaking, but I was meticulous about installing.

I went with the diamondback because i through racks on it and an rtt and needed something that would take the weight and didn’t want a rack over the bed rails. It’s expensive but it’s bombproof and it gives you access to the rear of the bed super easily. Can mount racks to it and not worry about weight or the functionality of the cover or access to the bed. Great option in my opinion and worth the dough and gives you plenty of tie down points with the cleats.

I examined and researched a lot of tonneaus and I decided to go with "Peragon!" Installation is a little involved but not difficult. As someone else stated, no tonneau keeps 100% of the water/rain out but this one does a really good job and very little gets through. There is no one single best tonneau for everyone, different people will use them differently and have different priorities as well as budgets. At least look at the "Peragon!" https://www.peragon.com/?gclid=CjwK...wnTj69DsulydBcZU9x5beFI8wFbvbbuRoCCi8QAvD_BwE

In Columbus Ohio area there is an online auction that sells returns and damaged in transport items from large retailers like Amazon and Home Depot. Some items are is and others can be inspected prior thg o leaving warehouse. I was able to pick up a Bakflip MX4 2 weeks ago that was new/never out of packaging for $390 out the door. Installed the same day and love it. Deals are out there if you have similar auctions in your areas.

Btw...I still have 98 Ram if need to haul large items so the tonneau on taco is more of a beauty upgrade.

Have you installed? I just want a rollup where you can still use a rack system

So you are able to "open/roll" the Person with that bed extender installed?

Diamondback Extreme HD. Has a higher load rating than the truck. No leaks. Uninstalls in a few minutes. Most big things that won't fit underneath I just carry on top. So convenient. Bolt any rack you want right to it.
