Parts of the PNW are starting to thaw out, along with having some intermittent sunshine, was cause for cruising around the Olympics this weekend.

I'm wondering if anyone has a solution for running chase lights with soft top. I have a Bestop Supertop 2 that I'm putting on and have some existing Diode Dynamics SSC1 lights that I love, but I'm not sure how to mount. I was originally going to use an accessory mount like the Rago CB mount but it doesn't seem compatible with my TC bed stiffeners.

Yeah I had that thought. Was hoping to put them up higher but that will be my fallback.

Go get some conduit hangers, attach them to the poles then connect your chase lights to those. They will be inside the topper, but they should shine through the back window pretty good still.

Anyone looking for a Softopper camper extension tent? Got one for Christmas and used it once then sold my softopper so I have no need. $150 I’m in SoCal.

On the back of the prinsu or other roof rack works.

I have the materials to mount a third brake light on the back of the softopper. There’s a few posts in here lining that out. Should be pretty similar install for chase lights.

Good info. My bestop is already wired for a brake light. I did think about trying to hang the chase lights in a similar way but I think they'll be too big/bulky.

I had thought of this but wasn't sure how visible it would be around/above the topper. I wish I could find pics of this setup.

Sorry to change the subject, but can't seem to clarify this - is the Softopper narrower than the bed?

On a 3rd gen at least, it seems from some pictures that the plastic bedcaps are not entirely covered by the rails of the topper - like a tonneau cover.

    Or am I smoking something?

Correct. It will sit slightly inside the outside edge of the bedrail.

I'll be picking up a rigid chase light, https://www.rigidindustries.com/chase-red-90133.html, and using it as a third brake light, reverse light, and chase light. Plan is to hang it off the top bar using a tube clamp and either let it shine through the window or slide it out above the window panel for better visibility.

This seems like a very good option. And then I'd just repurpose my SSC1s to scene lighting duty. Do you know how bright it is?

    That's one expensive 3rd brake.

Ive been using this and wired it for 3rd brake only: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GJGCR9U?ie=UTF8

10 bucks, bright as hell and flexible enough to fold with the canvas.

I think the reason to go for the expensive option is to solve the problem we're having where we also want a rear chase light. That Rigid light triples as a chase light, reverse light, and chase light.
