Just looking to do some camping and off-road day trips, don’t have many friends in the area looking to meet good people. I drive a Tacoma Trd off-road

Welcome. Get a Benchmark atlas (the black ones, made in Ashland) and try a few areas. These will get you out away from gates and crowds (though the gates continue their encroachment).

Trask drainage- go to Carlton and follow Meadowlake west to the Nestucca River, then anything north along there

    after snow clears
Clackamas River toward Barlow Trail and Mt Hood- go east (SE) from Estacada, turn toward Timothy Lake and then Barlow Trail area SE of Mt Hood
out the Gorge and on the Wash side go north to hamlet of Trout Lake and into the Gifford Pinchot NF around Mt Adams.

Welcome to the forum. Central Oregon and eastern Oregon has tons of places to explore. Going to have to wait for the snow to melt to get to a lot of places though.
