I know nothing of these new fangled models.
.I'm still keeping my wife's 2007 2.5 with 198k limping along. Glad Subaru finally learned something to reduce some maintenance. Even more reason I should look for something like that.

My mom is a diehard Subaru fan. Her 2000 Legacy LSi had 500k miles. I remember the 84 GL Wagon she had before that. Switchable 4wd, carb'd, and spare in the engine bay.

Id actually want a Brat now. But they're either way too much $ for pristine, or turned to dust now on the east coast. Those jumper sests would be so cool! Imagine hanging on for dear life while struggling to do 55 on the highway  and getting pulled over constantly for having people sit in the back.

This was the first new car Debbie and I could afford to buy. We were so happy to have modern convienances. It was just under $13k. It lasted 11 years and over 110k miles before it developed a electric issue in the steering column. I donated it to charity.

Thats awesome. My parents took theirs to the dealership. I learned to drive on it. Then the dealer refused to work on it because the frame rusted, and they were worried it would break in half on the lift. I think my parents sold it to a family friend for $1, to get used on a farm. I am not sure if it lives today

I have always wanted a WRX but Deb wasn't interested in learning how to drive a stick or I'd still have one.

If anyone is really ambitious and wants an older vehicle worth keeping, you should consider buying from out west. My buddy in NM said there's zero rust issue. Now rubber, that's a different story. If they are shaded though, no biggie.

I saw a Porshe 911, the older style with the proper headlights, for under $15k. Convertible, stick, garage kept, immaculate, all the records, one owner.

I was going to fly out and drive it back. Then the pool liner needed to be replaced. womp womp womp

But I was this close :frusty:
