2022 stock lighting

I posted this disclaimer on my last post as well.

I realize this info is in here some where and there is a search button, thank you.
I’d just an easy answer to the question, if that’s okay.

That said, I’m waiting for my 2022 Sport to come in and the dealer can’t seem to get me the upgrade on the headlights.
So if possible I’d like to swap out the stock bulbs with something brighter.
Can you folks recommend an easy swap out without changing the whole headlight assembly, adding regulators, wiring harnesses etc…
I just want to see the road better at night(I’m old)
Again I’m sorry if my laziness and lack of electrical knowledge offends anyone.
What bulbs you using and how they workin out for you

 

How do you know they aren't good enough already? You don't have it yet...

 

Okay I think I got my answer

An H9 halogen bulb is a significant output upgrade over the standard H11. The standard 55w H11 is 1200 lumens, a 65w H9 will boost that to 2100 lumens. The mild increase in power draw is easily handled by the Tacomas headlight circuit. Light color temperature and beam pattern will be identical to the stock standard bulb, just significantly brighter. H9s are standard bulbs, they are not designed to enhance focus or extend distance projection. As a high beam bulb, the standard H9 is optimized for output, it will have a muchshorter bulb life than a standard H11. While a standard H11 is rated at 1000 hours, the H9 is rated at roughly 250 hours. The H9 willmount into the Tacoma headlight assembly, however the plug will not fit withoutmodification to the bulb. There is an internal tab on the bulb that must be shaved down tofit the plug. It only takes a couple minuteswith a small knife to make it plug and play.

Because I test drove a truck on the lot with stock lights late in the day when it was getting dark out.
Second, I want to go as bright and as far as I can. I live in the suburbs but have a place out in the country and it’s way way darker and harder to see out there (for me).
I’ll be moving there full time soon and want to be prepared

 

If you want simple your plan looks solid but it’s still a halogen bulb at the end of the day. I upgraded to HID low beams from Morimoto and LED high beams from Morimoto in my 2016 and 2019. These have some extra components but are fully plug and play.

You can also buy the led headlights from Toyota and buy the adapter harness to make them plug and play on your truck.
