    Hi folks,

I picked up an OEM tailgate lock kit from my local dealer. They could not guarantee it would fit on my SR. Compared to some online videos I've seen with TRD models, the SR doesn't have a harness running from the passenger side to the rear for the lock harness to get zip tied to. I just zip tied the lock harness where I could on the frame. There was a harness running down the driver's side but not sure the wiring would have been compatible with the connector.

I used the supplied metal zip ties for the section around the muffler. While under the truck, I noticed how much effort Toyota goes to not have metal attach directly to the frame, instead there is always a rubber washer.

So question is, are my metal zip ties going to rattle/vibrate in the wind and cut through the frame paint? I live in the rust belt so my concern would be creating a rust issue.

I thought about taking these off but not sure what kind of cutters to use...

I did pretty much the same with my SR5, although I found some holes in the frame flanges to run the tire ties through. I'm not worried about rust though.
