All these issues with KM3s don’t seem to persist in the Yokohama Geolander MT thread. I run Geolander’s, and they are quiet, great traction in all conditions, have worn evenly, and balanced well. Ymmv, I do like how KM3s look however.

I was thinking more 285/75/17 and up. Not the entry level sizes for Tacoma. That’s why I Mentioned it after you posted the Tacoma entry level size.

I got a wooping 2+ yrs out of my 285/75/16 km3's. Still have tread life after 80,000 mi. Tires were getting louder to the point driving hwy was unpleasant to hold conversations. Would I buy them again? Yes . Did I ? No . Why? I haven't been offroading as much . What did I go too? I went with Mickey Thompson Baja legend exp's 315/75/16. Why? Made in america and they are a hybrid all terrain. It has both characteristics of a mud and a/t tire. 50,000 mi warranty . Cost was $1400 shipped to my house .

Just getting ready to throw my second set of 33" KM3's. They are heavy, stiff (E rated), and not the best traction (which I think has more to do with PSI/Stiffness) I learned pretty quick that these stiff buggers need a bit lower PSI than say an LT or C rated tire with all that being said, they are tough as nails and wear has been great. I've towed my trailer over some nasty sharp rocks etc.. and the KM3's take it without a complaint.

Coming from the Duratracs (Softest sidewall i've felt) the KM3's are at the other end of the spectrum as far as stiffness.

I see this was a couple years ago. How did those baja legends treat you in the 315 size? I currently have those tires in a 285 and they've been great. I'm trying to decide what I'm buying next though. I wanted a 255 and that's why I'm on this km3 page. There's not many options in a 255 85 16. So I may end up with a 295 or a 315. I just gonna try something else besides a 285 this time.

I got roughly 78k miles out of my first set of the mickey Thompson Baja legends . I'm now on my second set . Great tires not too loud on the hwy . I really have no major complaints other than tires are too damn expensive lol.

Looking at prices and seeing bad reviews on a lot of other tires I'll probably stick with the Baja ledgend too. I agree they are great tires. I've wheeled them quite a lot in mud and on rocks. They've been great in rain too. My current ones have worn weird but I feel it's due to a ball joint and alignment problem that I have now fixed.
