3rd Gen Tacoma Fog lights out

I originally bought LED fog lights for my tacoma, and they worked fine for awhile. One day I noticed the fog light dashboard light was off and sure enough both lights were out. So i bought replacement ones still LED and put them in and turned the switch on and nothing happened. I checked the fuse, and the relay and nothing is wrong with those. Im kind of lost and not sure what to do next.

 

You installed LED bulbs in original halogen fog light houdings?

Put the original bulbs back in. If they work......it's the bulbs. If not then further diagnosis will be needed.

 

You know they only work when low beams are on, right?

Also, use a DVM to check for voltage at the socket.

 

They work when parking lights are activated.
My tundra only works when low beams are activated

Hey guys, appreciate your time and knowledge on this. I do want to apologize because i might be a moron. Could be up for debate. Anyway i forgot on arm to switch on your fog and low beams theres a second switch to turn your fog lights on at all. I must’ve hit it without noticing and just thought my fog lights were out. Lmaoooo again im sorry i wasted your time but i had to report back the news. Thanks again

You are driving around blinding everyone with those LEDs. The light just scatters and there is no proper cut off, so the performance is actually worse than weak stock fogs.

 

not true at all. That’s why their is an OEM LED plug and play upgrade for the fogs

Yes it is. Stock halogen fog light housings are not designed for LED bulbs.

The link you provided is the whole replacement assembly, which is the proper lights with a proper cutoff. I’m actually running those with amber lamin x.

Cali Raised are what I have and I love them. They are bright and have a great seal and do not corrode on the ditch lights.
