Fitting 35’s with minimal trimming NOW ADDING LONG TRAVEL AND 934 CV’s

The distance between your bellows looks pretty high, like they are all stretched out. Is the clamp on the small side still in place in that picture? Usually it seems to me that the bellows being too tight leads to friction and thus failures, but if your small clamp is still locked down it looks like it some how migrated too far away from the joint, stretching out the inside bellows.

They aren’t sealed up at all, the leather is just used as the secondary boot to protect the rubber boots

 

So a triple wrap for them really nasty east coast hoes?

 

Oh you fancy now. Shit now I want to get that double boot thing and make some blue tanned leather outer boots rough side out.

 

Look at the shock boots that places like rough country sells. They should work perfectly.

 

I tried one, it got all torn up. It’s the nut/bolt head in the clevis that’s the issue.

 

That may work but won't stop 100% of the dirt ingress but a lot better than nothing

 

Oh yeah I’m definitely not leaving it open. I’ve got some inner tube on there right now that seals it up pretty well and lasts a few trips. Just keeping an eye out for a more permanent solution.

 

I played that game with my first Raptor 10yrs ago... everything just rips, fails and traps dirt in there. It’s just the cost of running the clevis’s w/heim joints

Anyone have tips for breaking the inner bead on a beadlock? Trying to get my balancing beads out to just use weights. It honestly drove better without the beads. Tried different weights and just doesn’t seem to want to work properly. I used my hi lift and put on my sliders to work around the bead and I can’t get it to budge for the life of me. I’m probably just going to take it to a shop to just have them break the bead for me.

 

You can drive over the tire with another truck or just take them to the tire shop

 

Thanks. Ya I just took them to a shop. Took them 15 min. wasn’t worth my time messing with it.

 

No more taped together front clip! 3rd gen conversion is officially what I will call complete. Time to finish frame work and build a couple of bumpers. Then it’s off to paint.

 

That came together quite professionally.

 

If you're getting the right waveform ( and it looks like that's a square wave?). You could use an op-amp circuit to get more voltage; or you could just use the 6v signal to drive a relay or a transistor and switch 12v to mimic the same square wave.

 

Been waiting on a worm gear so I can install the t case unit and keep testing. I have not put the transmission output sensor on the scope with the Dakota module yet. They told me to try the ac side of it for some reason. I don’t think it would work.

 

Re-reading this entire thread again while I’m stuck on deployment, already up to page 240. I’m also a little over a month into my wait for my shocks, should have them in time for Christmas hopefully! Has there been any development on a slide rack solution for the third gens?
