What’s the supposed advantage of advancing it that much? Wouldn’t that be more for high rev performance?

Not exactly what I think of with an 80 and a straight six haha.

Also, I don’t know what I’m talking about, so there’s that.

1° of advance is typically good for ~10hp increase at the top end but down low it is rather noticable gain as well. The default of 3° BTDC is rather low considering the same engine in Japan and Australia is run at 6° BTDC base timing.... Thing is our fuel isn't as consistent

That makes sense then. Sounds like they had to hedge a bit somewhere to account for potentially bad gas.

    Thanks for the explanation!

Well, it only took Amazon all day until the evening to drop off the wire wrap I ordered. Meanwhile, here I've got my connectors soldered up and ready to go.

    20220409_161723.jpg

Also got the LED pods in their respective brackets tightened up to get them as level with each other as possible.

    20220409_162158.jpg

I'm used to using Techflex but without any cool stores to carry it near me, I opted for something else recommended on here.

MGI SpeedWare Woven Mesh Split-Sleeve Wire Loom for High-Temperature Automotive Harness and Home Cable Management - 25 feet (1/4") https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HXSL2SH

Paired with friction tape, this made for a much cleaner wire harness than I expected. Didn't snap pictures since I was tired of helping my FIL fix the front sprinkler system half the day.

    Here she is!

    20220409_205342.jpg

Some shots with the lights off, and on. Holy fuck they are bright!

I'll have to take some time one of these nights to adjust them. I mean, so far they look like they're throwing light the way they're supposed to but they might be aimed a bit too high.

Here's the website depicting their throw.

Or maybe I'm spot on already based on my last pic.

    Comments, anyone?

Little bit of this and that
Looks to me like they're aimed too high just based on how the light seems to be thrown upward the farther away from the truck you are.

Yep, so you confirmed my thoughts.

Was thinking it may have been a bit high when I fired them up the first time; it's especially noticeable in my last pic.

Love how sharp the cut-off is.

Question, for those that actually watch this thread

Going to put a poll up regarding my bumper; grind off the welds before I spray paint it or not?

I ask because it rained today so I got a bit of surface rust. Figured I could pull it off and either hit it with a wire wheel and prep for paint, or grind it smooth.

Lol I'm liking it more and more without.

I'll add it after this one!

Yellow doesn't reflect so much in snow or fog versus white light.

Plus it's easier to see in high dirt and dust areas while off-roading.

    hmmm

I only grind the ugly welds before paint but yours are pretty so I would paint over them

Do you want a slightly more rugged look or more "refined" like ARB kind of look?

Dont grind them. They are nice. Plus, you will get like 3" into grinding and regret it. Then you are fucked!

Yeah I've never bought lights, except for headlights and whatnot.

So when I forked over what I did for these fogs I was a bit hesitant.

Recommendation came from 2 buddies on the forum that also run DD fogs and I'm glad I listened to them!

    $190 shipped.

So yeah, not a lot I guess in the "lighting" world but another hundred or two could've bought me material for a rear swingout.

Maybe the Sentra need some
