Good morning everyone. I camp practically all winter but we rarely get snow here just lots of WET besides sleeping in my little trailer I use this 10x10 pop up shelter with tarp sides and if cold I have a small little wood stove in it, but it fits a couple of camp cots perfectly takes up very little space

That's a horrible idea. What time?
I have awning mounts now with a batwing awning mounted to it. It's a Chinesium knock off of the ARB that came with the first used bed rack I bought. It uses ground poles, which for a dog on a lead might be an issue. Thinking about upgrading or just going to the ARB 8X8. I could attach to that so then all I'd have to beak down is the awning itself if I were to leave the campsite. I have a battery supply for the CPAP and want to add a solar charger to it, so the cords aren't really an issue. The ARB style is what I was leaning toward for a couple of reasons.

There is a tent made for the 1st Up style shelters that also has me thinking along those lines. We have a 10x10 now, so the $150-ish for the tent attachment is a pretty attractive option. The only drawback is that our 1st Up is so old it's often last up!

    Morning everyone!

Been dog sitting for a friend, 2 more little dogs running around to watch out for. It's like herding cats before I get morning hot stuff...2 at a time to go outside then breakfast making sure no fights break out.
Weather sucks. Rain and 37 right now, not supposed to be much warmer than that today. Hoping the fruit trees survive!

    Nice!
I make these ham, egg, and cheese sammiches every Friday thru Sunday since I'm off work those days. No time to eat breakfast on days I work. Just coffee and hit the road

Yes, but I already have the 1st Up, so it's a quick, low cost fix. If I sell the RTT for what I paid (not a lot), I'll come out ahead.

I suppose it would be easy to find the same tent hardware at a yard sale for cheap.

My go to is still sleeping in the bed...but I'm 5'3" 120lbs so there is that. Long road trips I've slept in the cab (well before they got air beds that fit the back seat).

Well, I'm not certain how much power a CPAP pulls, but if you add a portable power station of sufficient size with a solar panel to recharge you could still go to just about any backyard you want to. Get one of those big milk creates for a storage bin/table to put the CPAP on, and you could use it with either the hammock or ARB. As for the dog, whenever I hammock camp Gracie has to sleep in the truck, but when I set up the ARB she sleeps at the foot of the cot.

That tent was on my Christmas list for several years until I got the ARB. A couple of my friends use those, their setup is pretty sweet with a queen-size air mattress, they are probably the most comfortable people in my camping group.

Thanks for posting the pics, I was definitely following along when you took the trip as I had just came back from mine. I like your idea with the ARB tent/awning thing.

I had a regular height capper that came with the truck. I couldn't handle removing it by myself ( no garage to make a hoist ) that's why I started thinking a soft topper might be an answer.

Do any of the working stiffs wear work boots? I need to find something better for my feets. I have some old Red Wings that just aren't cutting it anymore, no matter what type of insole I put into the jezzless things. I looked at some engineer style pull-ons today, one company was Thorogood and the other was Carolina. I liked that the Thorogood soles were stitched to the body of the boot where the Carolinas were all glued together. The Thorogood use an outside safety toe design where the Carolinas were a normal internal design.
