Anyone install an OEM remote tailgate lock on a 2021 Tacoma SR5? I did mine today and all the how-to videos said to zip tie the wire along the existing wire harness under the passenger’s side of the truck. Challenge is, mine has no wire harness on the passenger’s side so I zip tied it to the frame. Works fine, but I can see the silver heat-shielded wire when I look at the rear wheel well. Interested if anyone did the same install and how they ran the wire.

Just hit it with flat black and you won't notice it.

I also shot mine with some black spray paint.

Half the damn day. Only because each YouTube video had different instructions and the kit didn’t come with any. If I did it again it would take me 1.5hrs at most. It’s not complicated. Let me know if your going to do it and I’ll send pics and tips. Works great.

Looks great! I think I’ll tape off around it and hit mine with some flat black, heat-resistant spray paint. Have some in my garage.
