So I got a 2nd windshield nick while driving on the FWY. the first one was less than a year ago. and it was repaired. this is now making me wonder about the glass quality. I don't think I have ever gotten one, it the last 40years. before this 2 times. It has happened that things hit the windshield in the previous Tacomas. but never got a nick as a result.
Just trying to find out if there is a pattern from others here ? So I can decide if I should contact Toyota about it.

    Thanks.

Very common on any tacoma 2005-Now. It's the angle and design of the truck. Not a manufacturing error.

I live in the rock chip capitol of canada and tacomas are one of the worst.

FJ's and Jeeps are the king of rock chips though for obvious reasons.

Go to any forum for any vehicle and this is a topic. Tacoma windshields are no better or worse than others. Statistically you were due for chips and cracks.

Knock on wood, in 4½ years, I have not had any issues, and I have had multiple hits to the glass with no chips or cracks.

I have had one chip which was just recent. We replaced the windshield on our old Subaru 5 times within 5 years and at least a dozen or so chip repairs in the last 10.

When I got my 2006, I got a chip on the windshield not even owing it for 5 hours on the highway.

My 2020 windshield looks like it's been sandblasted. Drives me nuts.
