I’d like to get some opinions here. Dip the remainder of the wheel entirely black or leave as is? I’m torn both ways

I think dorado gold pearl goes great with the silver Toyota wheel color

Funny you say that because I also feel the same way. I like my center caps being black— they were all jacked up so I dipped them at the beginning of this year and so far I like the results I got. I’ll probably leave them as is. Your 4th Gen looks incredible, by the way!

thanks dude! I do like the center caps black, breaks it up a bit. I do have some black accents like the grill and badges, kind of like your center caps, and I think the tan, black, and silver go well together

Haha they’ve gotten more miles on 2 wheels than any other pair I own. Damn things are lighter than some shoes and breath well.
Is winter still not over? That feels like forever ago.

Yeah the center caps had all gotten really bad looking except for one, so I just dipped them all. Turned out nice I like to think. I’ve been doing the black and gold scheme lately, black grille with chrome center piece, black bug deflector, etc

I purchased (5) KMC KM545 Wheels 17x8 along with 5 TPMS sensors, but after having them for a little bit I have decided that I prefer the look of the TRD Black Wheels. I am looking for anyone that has TRD black wheel that may be interested in working out a swap. One of the rims has a small knick that is barely noticeable, and the others are in perfect condition. Currently, all 5 of the wheels have Nitto Ridge Grapplers 285/70r17 on them. Of those 2 of the tires are in need of replacement and 3 are in good condition. If you want your tires back, I can purchase new tires and return them to you when they put my tires on. If you are interested in discussing what you have and a potential trade let me know, please. New I paid: $1095 for wheels and $224 for the TPMS. I prefer 17” wheels, but am willing to consider what you have.

I decided to take your advice and put some work in on the sliders this weekend. Hit the bad spots with a wire wheel and then a few coats of the Dupli-Color Rust Barrier in matte. You have to get pretty darn close to see the imperfections. I am thoroughly impressed with the job, now just to see how long it lasts. Rail Slider Paint.jpg

Cool! I'm surprised the matte turned out that good. I only use it for frames or whatever that isn't visible. The gloss also seems to have a rubberized finish to it. Maybe I just haven't used the matte in the right places.

The gloss seems to take forever to dry. It's been slightly tacky a day or more after. The matte soaks right on and dries in a few minutes.

I could be way off on some of this because of how I'm using it.

    Either way, they look good!

Thanks! I did 3 coats with about 15 minutes in between. Used pretty much a whole can per side. Really happy with the results for $37.

My buddy up in Pearisburg sent me a video of it snowing like crazy. I could see the snow obscuring that mountain range along 81 and in Salem. I was freezing my balls off mowing during all that, then it turned around and almost hit 65 on Sunday. Really kicked myself on that one
