    Yea, I feel the same is going to happen with my house I just bought. It appraised for more than when I bought it for and I've since enclosed the carport into a garage for more value, but I feel values are gonna tank. However, I don't plan on going anywhere. I do sense all the land around me will eventually get sold into housing, which may suck, but will probably bring in public sewer. That and nobody can take my 1/2 acre from me!

    If the land around you turns into housing it should drive your value up...but it's definitely nicer to not have to deal with the people.
    I think my kid may get lucky, the house he's buying is in a pretty good neighborhood; I can't see any house in that 'hood selling for much less than he's paying....but along with that, it could use some TLC.
