lol, just a $250 deductible! Technically I told insurance the truth. I told them the road I was on, a forest road is still a road, it had a name! And I told them there was high water in the road, which was also true! Adjuster came by and looked at it, asked a few questions, bing bang boom, whole new ordeal with a dealership replacement.

    Right on!

I'd say I'm 99.999% of the time trying my best to help my customers with potential warranty claims, ignoring the fact that some things not factory items maybe questionable.

so after a tune session with @JustDSM i learned my stuff was off but not bad. sounds like afr gauges can give you close readings, but not super accurate. i was worried about fluctuations that really were not a big deal. again, the tuning wizzard saves my day!

I remember I ran into this issue myself.

I wound up needing to give my HPTuners datalog access to my AEM wideband sensor in order for @JustDSM to get direct access to the AFR readings over time because getting close to the AFR readings I wanted was not enough to keep them more locked under WOT conditions.

After I was able to datalog the wideband readings, Justin was able to make some minor tweaks and adjustments and now my AFR stays more within what I want to see at all times.

Definitely worth getting wideband readings in order to tune with closer precision.

No you just have to create a connector using serial data. It's actually a simple 2 or 3 wire hookup from what I remember. I used an old USB cable and just spliced it into certain pins of a RS-232 conversion cable then ran the setup over to the passenger side. I still have the connector hooked up and laying idle for whenever it is that I need to hook in to datalog again.

I posted about it here quite a while ago actually.

    @White lightning boosted

    Here we are!

For me it was simple as tapping power out of a pin on the AEM AFR gauge and common ground from the chassis then converting that to a RS-232 conversion cable (you CAN'T skip this part as this is the only way for the USB cable to decipher the data) then getting a RS-232 to USB conversion cable and that will give you the ability to show AFR data from you gauge to your PC on HPT suite for datalogging purposes. It will not automatically detect it however so you need to add a PID to the datalog suite in order for it to detect and display the AFR data.

thats quite the custom cable. thanks!

Custom problems require custom solutions my friend. If you draw up the courage to do this, let me know if you have any questions and I'd be happy to help.

I can't leave anything well enough alone
What material is that made of, and are those threads or is it just a visual thing with the picture?

It’s a hard plastic. No treads just the way picture turned out. I ordered one from ZZPerformance but need my truck. I got this one at a local parts store. Just want to make sure this will work before I install it.

@zachmck01 I did some cross referencing on that part number to the ZZ one and the applications for both. Seems to be the right one.. meant for m90 blowers.. I'm sure someone else can give a more solid answer though.

Alright boys. Here she is. My shiny new 2017 boosted Camaro ZL1. The PERFECT staple of the sports car enthusiast that my dad was. I can't think of any better way to honor him than to have a piece of the brand which he loved. May he rest in peace.

You can bet that front plate will be coming off and I have a Gates RPM belt planned to install, my Dad's carbon fiber license plate frame, and an intercooler lid sound deadener plate delete. It came with a BMR suspension strut bar, Borla X pipe, and a secondary cat delete already. Long live boost!:burnrubber:
