Just like the title says-In all honesty, I joined this group because I’m finally in a place where I can start working on my project: getting my truck into shape for a cross-country trip + building out the bed/camper shell to sleep and live in for the month I do this, but also (and SUPER important in order to even begin doing those things- to sell a camper shell I just bought that’s not what I need, in order to fund my project! But then I read the seller rules and saw that I have to have 50 POSTS just to post my 1 ad? Am I reading this right? I just wrapped up cancer treatment and thought this would be the perfect place to accomplish these things, but um, I’m a little disheartened now that I wrote this great ad (or what I thought to be) and now I can’t post it. :( I’m not sure what to do. But I guess since I joined, I can at the very least get some opinion from y’all on other things?

    1. I pulled the shitty OEM bed liner out, in order to have my new camper shell fit. And while there’s no rust damage (even on my near 23 year old truck), it’s exposed metal. I figure step 1 is to do something about this and I also have more or less landed on having it spray bed linered. I don’t need it to be pretty (because it’s going to have a platform bed with drawers built on top of it and you really just won’t see it), but I’m also just not in any shape to do the prep required to roll it on and use a kit. Plus I live in the city and park on the street with nowhere to do something like this. I started calling around for estimates and holy hell-it’s so expensive! Like I said, I’m paying off chemo-radiation bills here, and I’m also just a blue-collar Paramedic, so $ is TIGHT.
Anyone have any tips on where to go or what to do that may lessen the expense? I’m in Oakland CA-so admittedly a VERY expensive area. Is there a less expensive option I’m missing that will serve my purposes just as well?

    Thanks in advance, y’all.

we've been hit by a lot of scammers and hackers in the last year or so. the 50 post rule is our way of making sure you are here to be a part of the community and not just here to sell some stuff. no exceptions to that. hang out and get to know folks, ask some questions, share your plans and dreams.
also, there was a disclaimer when you joined that warned you about the limit on selling items

Thanks for the welcome, y’all. I get it. Scammers really screw up everything, man. It’s such a drag! Well hey, even if this isn’t the spot to sell my topper, it seems like an awesome resource with people full of knowledge, so I’m stoked to have found you guys.
